Artist Statement:
“…and the Natural” envisions an ancestral guide moving between the realms of spirit and earth. Inspired by medicine men who receive direction from ancestral spirits through nature, the piece reflects the dialogue between intuition and the natural world. The blackness signifies the ether—a spiritual portal—while the driftwood embodies the living earth. Together, they speak to how ancestral wisdom guides the medicine men toward healing plants and sacred medicines, revealing the harmony between the seen and unseen worlds.
