The Gathering, where I am woven.

Mixed Media (Paper Mache Clay, Shells, Beads, Feathers)

46" x 40"

Artist Statement:

“The Gathering, Where I Am Woven” reflects how identity forms through cycles of exploration and return. The act of gathering materials mirrors the gathering of experiences that shape who we are. The circular form and repeating arches symbolize the movement between self, community, and ancestry. Using found materials like clay, shells, and feathers, I weave together memory, inheritance, and transformation—honoring the ways we are continually remade through what we encounter and carry home.
